These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and LinguaHover ("we", "our", "us") governing your access to and use of the LinguaHover browser extension, our website at linguahover.github.io, and any related services (together, the "Service"). By installing the extension, creating a Pro subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use LinguaHover.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use LinguaHover. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are using LinguaHover on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
LinguaHover is a browser extension designed to help you translate words and learn languages while browsing the web. You may use LinguaHover for personal, non-commercial purposes, or in the course of your employment/study, subject to these Terms. You do not need to create an account to use the Free plan — your data stays in your own browser.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use LinguaHover on your own devices, solely for its intended purpose. This license does not give you any ownership interest in the extension, its code, or its branding.
The Free plan is provided at no cost and includes the features described on our website, subject to daily usage limits (e.g. lookups per day, saved-word cap) as displayed in the extension. We reserve the right to modify, expand, restrict, or discontinue features of the Free plan at any time. Where a change would materially reduce Free plan functionality, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users in advance via the extension or this website.
The Pro plan is an optional paid subscription billed either monthly or annually (as selected by you at checkout) through our payment processor, LemonSqueezy, who acts as the Merchant of Record for the transaction.

LinguaHover and all associated branding, logos, UI design, source code, and original content are the intellectual property of LinguaHover and its licensors. The extension is licensed to you for use as described in Section 3 — it is not sold to you, and no title or ownership rights are transferred. All trademarks, service marks, and trade names used are the property of their respective owners.
Translations, definitions, and related content displayed by the extension are retrieved from third-party services (see our Privacy Policy, Section 4) and remain subject to those providers' own terms and any applicable copyright.
LinguaHover relies on third-party APIs (translation, dictionary, and payment services) to function, and may display links to third-party websites (e.g. news articles in Smart News Reader Mode). We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content, accuracy, availability, or practices of these third-party services or websites. Your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
LinguaHover is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that translations, definitions, or any word-learning content are accurate, complete, culturally appropriate, or suitable for any particular purpose (including professional, legal, medical, or academic use). You are solely responsible for evaluating the accuracy and appropriateness of any translated content before relying on it. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LinguaHover and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or reliance on translated content, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LinguaHover and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
You may stop using LinguaHover at any time by uninstalling the extension and, if applicable, cancelling your Pro subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, at our discretion, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive behavior, or if required to comply with legal obligations. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 9, 10, and 11) will continue to apply after termination.
We are continually improving LinguaHover and may add, change, or remove features, or discontinue the Service entirely, at any time. Where reasonably possible, we will provide advance notice of material changes that significantly reduce functionality you rely on.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, features, or legal requirements. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users in advance. Continued use of LinguaHover after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which LinguaHover operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence grant you additional rights that cannot be waived. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service should first be raised with us informally via the contact details below so we can attempt to resolve it directly.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and LinguaHover regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
